To say that Maureen knows a thing or two about internet dating is an understatement in the extreme.

For starters, she was one of the pioneers of personals sites and has, for the past seven years, been involved in the development of some of the web's most popular and enduring dating sites.

Secondly - and perhaps more importantly - Maureen met her partner, John, on the net.

At the time, Maureen was working in senior management for an industrial glove company, and living on a property outside of Orlando, Florida. The scenery of the area was idyllic, but it was hardly a place where there were and abundance of men to meet.

Then, using some free net time she won at a local trivia competition, Maureen was surfing some bulletin boards when she happened upon a posting from an interesting man who lived in Australia.

She had always been intrigued by the land Down Under, and when she got chatting with John that something special clicked! They shared the same sense of humor and, as time went on, each reached a point where they couldn't wait to hear from the other.

Eventually, curiosity really kicked in, and both Maureen and John could no longer resist the temptation to meet in person.

So, when her annual vacation was due, Maureen hopped on a plane and journeyed almost 10,000 miles to Melbourne., where John was waiting for her.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Maureen and John have now been together for almost a decade, and they have recently moved into a magnificent home in regional Victoria.
